In a significant move to address network issues in the Bekwai constituency, Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the area, has initiated a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Communication & Digitization and the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) to restore connectivity to affected communities.
The project, undertaken through the Ghana Rural Telephony and Digital Inclusion Project, aims to provide network coverage to several communities including, Ntroaku, Krokotro, Subriso, Dotom, Gyasikrom, Aboaso, Odumase, Amanhyia, Sunkyerekrom, Atuogyabie, Wawase, Chiransa and Brosanko.
As part of Ralph Poku-Adusei’s efforts, a team from the Ministry of Communication & Digitization and GIFEC inspected existing masts and areas for new masts to resolve the issue.
During the inspection of the masts, Mr. Akowuah, a representative of GIFEC, assured traditional leaders (Nananom) that the government of Ghana and the Ministry of Communication are committed to restoring network coverage to all affected communities by the end of September, 2024.
Lawyer Poku-Adusei on his part, expressed his gratitude to the NPP government, the Ministry of Communication & Digitization, and GIFEC for their support. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the successful restoration of network services, fulfilling his promise to the affected communities during his constituency tour.
The project’s completion is expected to bridge the digital divide and enhance communication in the beneficiary communities with the Bekwai constituency.
