Fellow Patriots, on 7 December 2024, the people of Ghana spoke through their votes, and the outcome did not favour us. While this is a difficult moment for us all, let us take solace in the resilience, commitment, and patriotism that have always been hallmarks of the New Patriotic Party.

First, we must thank the Ghanaian people for the opportunity to serve this great nation. Governing is both an honour and a responsibility, and we worked tirelessly to implement policies that would bring lasting progress to our country.

We advanced bold and transformative initiatives, focusing on education, industrialization, digitalization, and economic stability. Flagship programs such as the Free Senior High School Policy, the One District One Factory initiative, and the push for a digitalized economy have laid the groundwork for a better Ghana.

These policies reflected our belief in the potential of every Ghanaian and our commitment to creating opportunities for all.

We must also celebrate the dedicated members and supporters of the NPP across the country. Your passion and hard work brought our vision to life, and your efforts on the campaign trail demonstrated the true spirit of our party.

Even in the face of challenges, you stood firm in advancing our shared ideals of development, democracy, and progress. However, democracy is about the will of the people, and it is clear that this time, the electorate sought change.

As a party, we respect the people’s decision and congratulate our opponents on their victory. This is not the end of our journey but rather a new chapter, a chapter where we pause, reflect, and plan for the future.

We must take this opportunity to assess our conduct in government, recognizing our successes while confronting our shortcomings.

Leadership requires humility, and it is only by acknowledging our mistakes and learning from them that we can chart a stronger path forward. Our focus must be on rebuilding trust, strengthening our connection with grassroots supporters, and refining our vision to meet the evolving needs of Ghanaians.

The next step for us as a party is clear: we must unite. Our strength as a party is tested in moments like these. Let us reject division and work together in solidarity to craft a strategy that reflects the aspirations of every Ghanaian.

The NPP has always been a party of ideas, innovation, and action, and these qualities will guide us as we prepare for the elections of 2028.

We are down, but we are not out. The journey to progress is never a straight path; every setback is an opportunity for a greater comeback. Let us move forward with renewed vigour, inspired by our shared vision of a prosperous Ghana. To every supporter of the NPP: hold your heads high.

We have much to be proud of, and we have much more to contribute to this nation. Together, we will continue to build upon the foundation we have laid and fight for the better Ghana we all believe in. God bless Ghana. God bless the New Patriotic Party.
